Troubleshooting offline devices
If you belive a device is online but appears to be offline, please check the following:
- The device is switched on.
- The device is configured properly (see TCP/IP config page for details).
- There is an available route to our web server. Please trace a route to 88.97.144.81 to make sure.
- If it's a wired connection, ensure the network cable is plugged in both ends.
- If it's a wireless connection, ensure the antenna is in range and you have the appropriate encryption key and MAC access. Also ensure there is heavy no electromagnetic interfearance (microwave ovens can cause this).
- There are no hardware problems, and drivers are installed correctly.
- There is no firewall on the device blocking an ICMP "PING" packet from our web server [88.97.144.81].
After checking these if the device still appears to be offline please contact a network administrator for assistance.
